On Sunday, March 3, 2001, Grace Baptist Church held a groundbreaking ceremony to begin the construction of a new east wing onto the existing church building. The new $1.6 million extension will add six new classrooms, two new restrooms, a teen room, new elementary office, and a fellowship hall with a kitchen. The new classrooms will serve a dual role. During the week, Heritage Hall will hold elementary classes in these rooms and on Sundays, the rooms will serve as the new homes of the youth and children's Sunday school and chapel areas.

Grace Baptist Church is also being given a face-lift. New carpet has been installed in the auditorium, lobby, halls, and classrooms. New light fixtures and ceiling tiles have been installed in the lobby area, and walls are being repainted and new wallpaper hung all over the building. In addition, a new sound system is currently being added to the auditorium and a new sound room is in the works. Plans also call for the pews in the auditorium to be re-padded and reupholstered.

Once all the construction is completed, Grace Baptist Church will be able to accommodate over 1000 people on any given Sunday. To view photos of the construction projects at Grace Baptist, click on one of the photo albums below.
