How Many Were on Board the S.S. England?

There are different accounts of the number of passenger, crew and those who died aboard the England. The New York Custom Passenger List has no checks in the died column. The book, "American Passenger Arrival Records" by Michael Tepper, says, "Liverpool...has no departure records...until 1890..." So we will never know the exact number.
