How many engineers does it take
to work a tape measure?

On June 3, 2005 “Team Munt”, six employees of ACE HDCPS, spent a half day as construction volunteers for us.

Their volunteer service was sanctioned as part of Cummins EE/EC (Every Employee/Every Community) initiative. The men built caging partitions to be used for the non-releasable birds of prey (hawks, owls and vultures) used in our nature education programs.

Since receiving State and Federal Education Permits in March of 2005, UTOPIA has already reached over 3,000 children and adults with our conservation and wildlife awareness message.

The Heritage Fund of Bartholomew County provided the funding for this 24’x24’ pole building, and we couldn’t be more appreciative of their understanding of UTOPIA’s importance as an educational and informational resource to the community.

Funding for the partitions was provided through a generous grant from the Cummins Foundation, and once again, we thank them for sharing our vision!

Jerry Hershey and Bryan Tyler.  Caging is built of wood and wood slats to protect birds from feather damage.
