These are our Wednesday volunteers, Mandy Flynn and Brad Lain visiting with one of our robin fledglings in our songbird aviary. The aviary is a busy place these days, with doves, robins, cardinals, bluebirds and sparrows all working on their flying and eating skills before release.

Audrey and Richard Blackman are board members and all-around volunteers.  From great advice to sewing and computer signs Audrey jumps in and saves the day for us every time.  Richard is our webmaster and computer guru.  His ideas and technical help with our programs are indispensable.  Because our wildlife and veterinary knowledge far surpasses our computer skills, this volunteer team is truly an asset to UTOPIA!

Kathy

Utopia had the privilege of receiving volunteer carpentry help from these three terrific Golden K Kiwanis members.  Jim Munt, Bill Baltus, and Bob McCubbin.  These hard working guys built us a moveable enclosure which we can use for baby bunnies or box tortoises, and they did it in only one day!

Two of our recuperating box tortoises are currently enjoying the enclosure.  The open-bottom design permits them to dig and graze, but keeps them in and safe from predators.

From us and from all the patients who will use it in the future--THANK YOU!

This is a photo of Nanette and Larry Howard our newest volunteers.  They have only been working with us a short time, but they are a Godsend.  They a all-around helpers and transport wildlife to us for the Greensburg area.
If you can't see it, Nanette is holding a little orphaned opossum that recently came to us.  Appreciative doesn't really sum up how we feel to have their help!
