With the Paul Gertner lecture, the 1st Indy Magic Lectures (IML) series is over. We now look forward to the 2nd Indy Magic Lectures (IML) series. The first series included Bob Sheets, Mike Close, Mike Powers, Nathan Kranzo, Troy Hooser, Docc Hilford, and Paul Gertner. The 2nd IML series will begin with Martin Lewis.

After a successful first season, we are proud to present our second series beginning May 14, 2009!

What is Indy Magic Lectures? It is an organization dedicated to bringing the best magic lectures to Central Indiana. Assembly 31 and Ring 10 no longer sponsor lectures in our area. Indy Magic Lectures ("IML") began sponsoring all magic lectures in August 2008.

What is the cost of joining IML, and what are the requirements to join? Anyone can join the IML. The only requirement is a sincere interest in magic. Individuals, be they members of a local Ring, Assembly, or other group, who are 18 years of age or older may become a Full Member of the IML for an annual membership fee of $70. That breaks down to less than $12 per lecture!  Anyone under the age of 18 may become an Associate Member for an annual membership fee of $30. The parent of any IML Associate Member may also become an Associate Member by paying an annual membership fee of $30.  Individual lectures for NONMEMBERS will cost $25 at the door.

Why should I join IML? All IML Members and Associate Members are guaranteed admission to at least six magic lectures each season! In the past, six lectures would have cost $90 for IBM, SAM, or FCM members. Once again, that breaks down to less than $12 per lecture.  This new flat-rate subscription-series structure will save Members at least $20 per year, if not more, because the probability of price increases under the old system was inevitable. Additionally, the cost for attending a lecture for nonmembers is $25 per lecture. The price structure for spouses and children will remain the same as in the past. IML is an extremely economical way to see and learn quality magic.

NEW BENEFIT!! What if I can't make all the lectures?  Starting with this second series, new and returning Members will receive a special pass that allows them to transfer one lecture to a person of their choosing.  The pass will list the paying member's name and will have space to fill in the lecture they are transferring and the name of the person they are transferring it to.  Most importantly, the paying member will have to sign the pass.  This will validate the pass and make it usable for the person presenting it at the lecture.  Passes without signatures will not be accepted.  We realize that sometimes not everyone can make it to every lecture.  We are instituting this new benefit to address those concerns and to protect the value of your membership.

Will this eliminate our local SAM and IBM and FCM groups? No. We want to keep strong magic clubs. The clubs will continue to meet monthly and do all the fun things they presently do.
