Section 1. The name of this organization shall be the Brown County Genealogical Society, Inc.
Section 2. The purpose of this organization shall be to encourage the studyof genealogy,
to help others gather genealogical information, to preserve and to publish material
of historical and genealogical nature - all for educational purposes.
Section 1. All persons interested in genealogy having paid-up membership may become members.
Section 1. The officers may be President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Librarian,
Genealogist and Editor. They shall be elected to serve for a term of one year.
Section 2. The Executive Board shall consist of all elected officers and the retiring
Section 1. A regular monthly meeting of this organization shall be held on the second
Tuesday evening of every month at a designated time and place.
Section 2. The annual meeting shall be held in January and annual reports for the
previous year shall be presented.
Section 1. The constitution may be amended by three-fourths majority vote of all
members present at a regular meeting.
Section 2. Any member may propose an amendment by submitting the same in writing to

meeting of the Society following the receipt of such amendment by the President.
Members absent from this meeting may request a copy of the proposed amendment.
The amendment shall then be voted upon at the next monthly Society meeting.
Section 1. The business meetings of the Society shall be conducted in accordance with
the parliamentary procedures set forth in Robert's Rules of Order.
Section 1. Upon the dissolution of the Society, the officers, after paying or
making provision for the payment of all liabilities of the Society, shall donate
the assets of the Society to the Brown ounty Public Library or, if it is no
longer in existence, to a non-profit organization which promotes and encourages
research and the preservation and dissemination of genealogical and historical
