Smelling the Roses: A final interview with Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (ISO) music director Raymond Leppard, who's retiring at age 73 after 14 years in that post. A Briton born in London, raised in Bath, Leppard became internationally famous in his association with the English Chamber Orchestra, from which came numerous recordings, and his revival of 17th-century opera. Mandy Patinkin Concert:  A review of an Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra sponsored special event, featuring two straight hours of the veteran entertainer holding his large audience captive with songs mostly from bygone periods of the 20th century--along with comic interludes. Another Heifetz:  A wrap up of the Sixth Quadrennial International Competition of Indianapolis--in which young Armenian violinist Sergey Khachatryan took the event by storm--yet was awarded only the Silver Medal.
